Outsourcing, Favoritism, Short-sighted - Artist Relations Agent DistroKid Employee Review

Pros

- working to help artists/musicians - Remote work (at least for now, they've mentioned that could change)

Cons

- illegal union busting behavior - little to no room for growth, advocating for yourself or acquiring new skills. Everyone on your team can make a very reasonable request for months and months and it will never happen. - very siloed working dynamic - workers' experiences aren't really valued (even if the company tells you it is). You are simply labor for them to extract as they build a highly successful company, and then they discard you when they can find a cheaper alternative - work culture went downhill after the company got big investors

Pros

Finding DistroKid was like finding home. It's a place where you're free to be yourself, are able to make an impact and you work with super smart and amazing humans! There's never a day where I hate my job and I've been here for a while. I've never felt so seen and heard and it's paradise in terms of working. I am so grateful each and every day for DistroKid. Our schedules are flexible, people are understanding and always willing to support, collaborate and listen.

Cons

Not seeing my coworkers in real life as much as I'd like to, but when we get together, it's a blast!
