Pros

The owners of DocAuto are great leaders (they don't micromanage) and inspire everyone to take action. Numerous employees have been promoted, and are encouraged to take on more responsibility, or try new ideas. We are in high growth mode, as Microsoft sought us out, and asked us to create software for their very popular SharePoint platform. This market is 100 X bigger than previous, so DocAuto will be a great place to work if you are the type of person that likes to seek ways to add value, and contribute to our fast growth.

Cons

A+ players only. We have fun at work, but people are expected to get their job done, and find ways to add additional value, and you will be rewarded. This is not the place for people that need to be coddled, or whiners (sorry for being so direct, but the owners and management have a very direct approach, and we execute quickly)

Pros

When stacked up against bigger corporations, where you are more number than name, this is a swell place to work. Managers trust employees to produce without hovering over your shoulder at all times. Leave policies and benefits are generous and pay is as expected for positions of equal responsibility in the area. If you show up to do your job and don't spend half the day on Facebook or shopping, you'll do fine. Flexible schedules and ability to work from home. Monthly birthday lunches allow employees to socialize on company time. Open Bar most every Friday allows everyone to wind down together. Plenty of opportunities to grow your skills beyond your position.

Cons

As a small business, there is an expectation to fill in as needed. If you are uncomfortable wearing more than one hat or in producing quality work while multitasking, you will not fit in. Do not expect to have your hand held through every step of every day; they rely on individuals to be self-motivated rather than micromanaged. Hard to leave an anonymous review on Glassdoor; because it's a small company, it's easy to see when one disgruntled former employee leaves multiple reviews in an effort to skew ratings.
