Pros

Good camaraderie amongst co workers. Hourly pay rate is good. CE and additional required courses are provided free of charge by an excellent instructor.

Cons

Company changed my schedule 6 times in 4 months, from days to nights, different days and from 44 hours to 36 hours. You are a number and not a person. They look for any excuse to not honor the sign on bonus for Paramedics. Overworked, get off work late, changes in schedule less than 12 hours before change, frequently wants you to come in several hours early for work. Hire you with promise of 44 hours a week and then without prior notice, knock everyone's hours down to 36 per week. The supervisor changes your clock-in times to exactly when your shift begins regardless if you were there 10 mins before shift start and working . No clear leadership from supervisors on up. All in all, they need better leadership, better organization and to get their crap together. Don't trust anything they say!!

Pros

Some of the coworkers you will meet

Cons

As a former employee I would advise against working for this company after becoming unionized Management began withholding proper equipment such as reserving trucks with power loaders/ powered stair chairs for day shift crews despite operational need elsewhere having multiple bariatric pts a night that require such equipment. The company is chronically understaffed, shows blatant favoritism toward certain employees, and distributes calls unfairly. Some workers will sit idle in one spot for hours doing little to nothing while others are sent all over nonstop having multiple calls back to back with barely any time to rest. Poor staffing decisions, lack of support, and constant mismanagement have created a toxic work environment across the board. You will be run into the ground and expected not to question it. The company refuses to address these issues or hire enough staff, and conditions are only going to get worse.
