Pros

Good peers to work with

Cons

What attracted me to DoiT was the culture they had. I started the job and everything was going well. I took a job in a field where I had no experience which they knew and through out the process everyone reassured me and said it was okay that I wasn’t fully where I need to be. They told be to have grace with myself, to not beat myself up and that they get that it’ll take time. Fast forward 45 days later, I hop on a meeting with my manager thinking it was just to catch up and I was let go. I was told I wasn’t coachable and that I didn’t take the advice they gave me. First, I don’t agree that people aren’t coachable. Second, I took notes, participated in role plays, reached out to other colleagues for advice and practiced my pitch. You cannot accurately measure someone’s ability to perform in a sales job within 40 days. I was caught off guard with the lay off and I just would have appreciate it more transparency from them.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience - I understand that it can be very disappointing when an opportunity doesn't work out. We have a very structured onboarding plan for new members of our Sales Development team, with clear milestones in place to measure incremental process and a multitude of resources to support new team members as they ramp with us, including a dedicated BDR Coach. It typically takes new team members up to 90 days to fully ramp up but there are a number of early indicators we look at to gauge the likelihood of long term success in the role - in particular we look for early progress towards mastering our core messaging, processes, tools, value proposition, etc. We feel confident we make every effort to have open and candid conversations about any early concerns and needed process before making any final decisions and we wish you the best in your next role. -Kristen Tronsky, Chief People Officer @ DoiT

Pros

- Ability to execute: We have many talented engineers/sales/cloud architects who are open to questions/feedback. I am confident in our ability the achieve goals we set out. - Coworkers: The best part of DoiT is the people I get to work with. Genuine, smart, kind is the three words I would use to describe my colleagues at DoiT. - Work/Life Balance: I have healthy balance of consistent/steady work hours while having the flexibility to change my schedule as needed. Company is complete remote and is a great environment for anyone who wants to be able to spend more time with family and not in an office. - Product Differentiation from other Cloud Partners: DoiT's platform is unmatched when comparing to other Cloud Partners. Most cloud partners rely on 3rd party tools for FinOps, monitoring/observability, diagramming, etc... DoiT has a large engineering team dedicated to building these tools for the DoiT platform. - Bonusly: One of my favorite perks is Bonsuly, which allows us to recognize peers for great work. We are allotted points each month to give to our coworkers which can be exchanged for Amazon giftcards or donated to charity.

Cons

- Drawbacks of a full remote environment which are not exclusive to DoiT. Cross Collaboration among teams can be challenging at times. Working in different time zones offers less time online with colleagues living in other areas. Having too many slack channels for minor items to arrange communication. - Salary is on the lower end of competitive. WFH should taken into consideration when analyzing total compensation. DoiT does do annual bonuses and the benefits are very solid as well. So while I think total compensation is competitive, I do see other cloud partners offer higher salaries (~20% more) for similar roles. DoiT has made it a priority to focus on compensation plans and ensure they are adjusted to fair market value.
