Pros

- The agency promotes professional education opportunities. - Opportunities to collaborate with people from diverse industries. - Opportunities for development, and experimentation within the field of education. …all for the cost of your sanity.

Cons

- While student programming and the external image create a facade of following DEI principles, the internal work environment is quite the opposite. The distribution of workload, power, and pay are wildly skewed. Feedback feels like it goes into the void leaving staff often feeling powerless. -Executive Leadership is very green, struggles to accept feedback, seems checked out and tone deaf creating situations where employees feel torn down. All this made me feel I was in a toxic environment. - It was extremely difficult to ever feel safe speaking up in fear of retaliation. - Continuously assigns work outside of job descriptions without acknowledgement for professional advancement, pay or job titles.

Pros

-I was able to voice my concerns with my manager when it came to assigned tasks -I felt like I learned a lot from my manager in terms of my communication skills -My manager was accommodating when it came to my disability -Flexible work hours -I was able to find support from other (hourly) team members when needed -Some PD opportunities -Diverse staff

Cons

-Low pay -No room for advancement -Onboarding was very sink or swim and felt like an after thought - I didn’t feel heard when it came to sharing ideas and was shut down when I offered a different perspective when it came to big picture -There is a huge disconnect between hourly employees and salaried management team. -Hourly employees were required to be in the office 3x a week while Management showed up whenever they wanted to (if at all) when expectations were set that ALL STAFF needed to be in the office. -Hourly employees often had to pick up the slack when others dropped the ball or part time people quit
