Pros

Comfortable Environment to work in Everyone is super nice and pleasant to work with Good benefits, including robust insurance and a 5% 401k match

Cons

The engineering department is overworked, and has been for literal decades. There are so many issues facing the company at any one given time that only the absolute most critical problems can be tackled, leaving everything else to grow until they become critical. There's no time to pre-emptively head off things that might become a problem or upgrade outdated, overly-convoluted, time-consuming processes. Senior management is only exacerbating the issue by placing tight schedules and aggressive deadlines that don't factor in the amount of time engineering has to spend keeping the rest of the company afloat.

Pros

Pay and a kind HR department but thats about it.

Cons

As a pro union person this is hard to say but, the union is abusing this company. If you are a supervisor or manager who wants to enforce the rules or discipline a well liked union employee, good luck, you will have a target on your back and you'll ultimately wind up unemployed because of complete lies or subversion from union members. Management tries to implement process improvements but people largely ignore them. The union refuses to accept any changes. They wont budge on anything and don't realize that compromise can be a positive thing. Inventory is a mess because of lazy union members who don't care about their job. The union leadership is hypocritical, lazy and only interested in making as much money as they can by slowing down work on purpose to gain overtime. They haze anyone who wont get on board with their games. This is not sustainable. Management needs to realize this. Leaving was the best decision I ever made in my career. Overall, it is a toxic work environment. HR does their best to make it a good place to work but the union ruined it for me. If there is no discipline for lazy union workers then where is the incentive to be better?
