Pros

The general employees are all easily to get along with. You are able to learn quickly with some of the latest technology and able to get a good hands-on experience working in one of the most demanding jobs around. Everyone is willing to help each other out to resolve an issue.

Cons

There is no work/life balance. Many employees regardless of their role is often tasked with working long hours to accomplish their workload. The compensation (both hourly rate and benefits package) are not up to industry standards, even for an MSP. This leads to a major problem of inability to retain talent. The high turn-around of experienced employees and lack of proper training of new hires, documentation, and process standards leaves a lot on the shoulders of those who stay or join up further contributing to the cycle of talent loss. Although the upper management feel they have an open door policy, there is a difference between their perceived listening to their employees and the actions being taken. From people in a non-manager position, it really looks like it is in one ear and out the other.

Pros

ECI used to be a good company to work for. Still some talented, smart people, but many, if not all have left. The new good people are pushed out quickly if they don’t bend a knee.

Cons

There are constant cuts and layoffs every year and there is terrible leadership from a team with little experience in actually running a business. Most diversity in the upper ranks has disappeared over the last few years and is a particularly prevalent problem with women leadership who all seem to get boxed out over time. In my tenure, I have watched women leaders get either cut or replaced with men from the C-suite down through upper management. ECI is very clearly moving towards a male dominated leadership team.
