Pros

Interesting projects Flexibility in working hours

Cons

- Extremely disorganized and unprofessional management with poor communication. Responses can take several days or even weeks. On multiple occasions, I was completely ghosted (once for an entire month) without any updates, even when I followed up multiple times. Management would go out of office without prior notice, leaving me in limbo with no response or instructions. - No clear structure for freelancers. Workload expectations are vague and inconsistent and there is a lack of transparency. The collaboration was initially suggested as "regular", but my contract only outlined a maximum number of hours but no minimum, meaning they weren’t obligated to give me any work. I went for months without communication, assignments, or response from management. Despite the lack of commitment on their end, I was often expected to accommodate urgent, last-minute requests as if I were an employee. - Deadlines were tight on my end, but when I needed approvals or feedback, management was unresponsive. I was told they wanted to collaborate on a regular basis, only for them to disappear again without follow-up. Later, when I informed them I could no longer continue under these conditions, they suddenly tried to convince me to stay by vaguely offering more hours but still refusing to guarantee them in writing. Overall, this was a stressful, unprofessional experience. If you’re a freelancer considering working with them, be prepared for extreme disorganization, a lack of respect for your time, and no real commitment from their side.

Pros

Interesting and varied comms work. Full of passionate employees who buy into the mission-driven approach.

Cons

The language of internal and external comms can feel overly bureaucratic, and the frequent/repetitive reporting requirements to the principal funder bring stress
