Pros
Not a whole lot but PTO is "unlimited", until it isn't. The people you work with are great and hard working, totally undervalued and taken advantage of. Some recent positive changes regarding bonuses, as before there were none so the bar is low.
Cons
Health insurance is expensive, family coverage is out of reach for most. Pay is poor for Chicago. Internal reviews are a waste of time. Follow through is poor. Raises are reactive, meaning you have to threaten quit to get one. You'll be doing the job of two and expected to do the job of three. Over promise and under deliver with clients ( The lies you will tell...). Zero upward momentum, only vertical if you're lucky. The only public response to the events of 2020-2021 (Pandemic, BLM, Protests, Police Shootings, Social Justice) was a post / meeting about Kobe passing. No serious sexual harassment (Oh the comments.) or inclusion training. Lots of money coming in but clearly not going to the businesses dated infrastructure. (Old equipment, unorganized) Using apps to track employees time to the second and screenshots of their machines. If you love IT you will get burned out, you will not cut your teeth here and you will not learn healthy work / life habits. You'll only come up for air every once and a while and realize you haven't been present for anything besides work. If you don't believe me please Google working at an MSP. You deserve to work somewhere better.
