Pros

1. Talented Employees: honestly, not sure how EMPIST attracts such talented folks to work there. During my tenure, I met some incredibly resourceful, creative professionals in all departments there. The problem is, management and executives do absolutely nothing to get talented people to stay, and company turnover suffers for it.

Cons

1. Laughable Pay: salaries across all departments are not even close to market-competitive rates, despite the highest expectations from executives. There is no structure for advancement or mobility within the company, and there are no raises. For more than two years execs promised a new bonus structure and raises and failed to deliver. 2. Toxic atmosphere: c-suite executives pride themselves on creating a cult-like bro culture built around empty promises. Daily company-wide morning standup calls are required for all employees, and the CEO will call out employees who don't have their cameras on and aren't cheering when he says to cheer. The call is outside business hours and does not count towards overtime. If you aren't blindly hanging on to every word the CEO says, he will not like you. He will be disrespectful and rude to you in every meeting you are in together. Executives promote a toxic atmosphere and are constantly making completely inappropriate jokes in front of employees, with no consequences (see lack of HR section below). 3. Unskilled Middle Management: there is a severe lack of organization within middle management. Managers cower before the c-level execs and will not back up the employees on their teams. On multiple separate occasions, my manager threw hardworking employees under the bus for his own mistakes, failing to take accountability, and getting them fired in the process. 4. High Employee Turnover: those employees who do not buy into the toxic culture present within the company do not last long. The pay is not anywhere close to competitive enough for anyone to put up with the company, so they take their talents elsewhere. Management spends little time or effort trying to preserve the work of departing employees, and do not rehire to fill empty positions, opting instead to shrink teams while increasing workload expectations. 5. No Human Resources Department: executives and upper level managers are constantly making inappropriate jokes and innuendos to each other, even pointedly making remarks about their subordinate employees in their presence and the presence of others. Human Resources duties are forced upon one back office employee who is untrained and unwilling to perform them effectively for the entire company, instead of hiring a trained HR professional. Employees have nowhere to turn when they are being targeted by jokes or mistreatment from their managers. 6. No Employee Appreciation: despite unrealistic expectations and constantly increasing workloads, upper management shows no interest in recognizing the efforts of their employees. A quarterly pizza lunch does not remedy incompetent pay and antagonistic management practices.

Hello and thank you for the review. We take every review seriously, especially if it is a negative one. As a growing company we don't always get it right, and we are truly sorry you have felt this way. Since you took the time to list multiple concerns, I believe we owe it to you, those who work at EMPIST and those looking to work here to provide an accurate representation of how we operate our business. - As a company listed currently number 74 in the world out of 130,000 MSP companies, and also making the INC 5000 most successful companies 8 times in the past 10 years, we could not have accomplished that feat without the support and testimony by our employees and clients. In other words, our work performance and also how we carry ourselves all the time with teammates and clients alike needs to be at certain levels to accomplish such achievements. - Every organization has been phased with Employee Turnover issues since the start of the pandemic. EMPIST is no exception to the rule. However, since Dec 2021 we have grown our team by 23%, in a time where most companies shrink in size and announce massive layoffs. We are committed to invest in top talent. Furthermore, we could not have afford to bring the top talent that event you have praised us for having without paying competitive salaries and compensation as driven by the market. Lastly on compensation, everyone in the company the last 2 years has received an annual bonus, based on performance and contribution. On top of that, our Sales teams are all in performance-based bonuses and we have implemented several bonus structures for non-revenue producing employees with more teams to come. - Our executive team is small, as we are also a smaller size company. Our executives drive this growth of 40% the last 2 years with passion, commitment and determination on behalf of all employees and trusted clients. Although our primary product is providing the best Technology Solutions for our clients, we are also a Sales Organization. It is through those sales that your pay, and every employee's pay is being compensated, and how we are able to keep investing in our growth, technology and more great talent. We have invested a good amount in training, resources and SaaS systems and Sales platforms to provide our employees with the best knowledge to deliver our promise to our clients. - We truly feel that without accomplishing all these feats, which are only part of the great things we are doing, we would never be where we are today. We also understand that not everyone is a good fit for our organization, and we are able to accept that. We truly believe you will find a company that fits your needs and believes, and that you will be happy with your career and life and be part of many successful things. Thank you again for your review, and wishing you the best!!!

Pros

Working at EMPIST for over 8 years has been very rewarding. Being part of the EMPIST team is more than just a job - it's about collaborating working alongside awesome, talented people who all work toward the same goal. The environment encourages teamwork, and every member is valued for their contributions and wins - both personal and professional - on a daily basis.

Cons

Not necessarily a con, but self-starters will thrive best in this work environment.

Pros

Can't think of any at all

Cons

I felt this was the most toxic workplace I've ever been in. Zero integrity from leadership whatsoever. There was zero trust. Ironic, considering their name. Gave them a 1 since 0 isn't an option
