Pros
Excellent company for growth, experience, and learning. EP is unique in it's balance of work, play, and volunteering. The company has a wide range of projects and clients, donates a percentage of all profits and time to charity, and has monthly company outings. The office is located at the top floor of 110 William St, with views of uptown Manhattan and the Brooklyn Bridge. The office is open, with no cubicles. There is an arcade machine in the conference room with 7,000 games that was built by employees. Lunch is catered every Friday from a variety of restaurants. Engineers are exposed to projects including ground-up residential, retail, retrofits, commercial offices, restaurants, gyms, and more. As a smaller company, all engineers are given opportunities to work on large designs, manage projects, and communicate directly with architects, developers, and contractors.
Cons
A lot is expected of all employees. While larger companies allow room for hiding, there is no room for engineers who are not willing to work and grow. Open office design does not appeal to all.
