I am now in my 27th successful year working as a Sales Account Executive at Eastern Datacomm. Why 27 years and still counting? What comes to mind first and foremost, is the EDC technical team that supports me, both pre-sales and post-sale. EDC has an incredible wealth of knowledge on the various communication solutions we have provided customers over the years. I could never have been susscessful without the technical support EDC has provided and continues to provide me! Great sales leadership with our sales manager and great relationships with the different manufacturers we represent!! A great company to work for!!

The technical industry is changing all the time which always is a challenge.

Company is primarilly composed of mostly relatives and partners who get preferencial treatment, prospects leads from the vendors, customers and first optlons on referrals from local industry shows. The owner also functions as a salesman which he also takes the best leads from the vendors. High turnover on both outside installation techicians and new salespeople. Very high on salespeople. New sales people primary job is to cold call and prospect for new accounts. They keep track of how many proecting calls you make a day through software linked to their phone system. Family and partners have been there on average for 20 years. Salesmanger's previous expereiece was in the car rental industry. Owner is very strict with employees being at the office before 8:30 and stay till 5:30 PM. How much time you take for lunch is carefully observed.
