Pros

- Some team members are very nice. - You get free access to Eden and some free entry to other attractions in Cornwall and Plymouth. - £10 gift card for the Eden Project shop at Christmas which you can spend on the online shop if you're remote. - Some of the training sessions are informative and helpful. - The opportunity to work with people who typically share similar beliefs and values. - Eden is an organisation that makes a positive change which is great for anyone wanting to make a difference with purpose-led work.

Cons

- The salaries are so far below market rate I don’t know how this can be justified ethically. Some senior team members are on £25k with 10+ years of experience. - There is no room for growth. There are no progression plans or conversations about professional development at all. - Management is exceptionally poor. Negging is commonplace. Criticism isn’t given constructively and often feels personal. Staff members are scapegoated for managerial mistakes and micromanaging means there’s little room to apply your expertise. There isn’t a forum to give feedback on this or try and proactively resolve managerial conflicts. Often it means employees are left to sidestep around large egos and do their best to cope. Sadly I’ve seen many colleagues lose confidence in their skill sets as a result. Given how widespread this is throughout Eden, it’s clear they need to look very closely at their management training practices. - Expectation you will be working overtime without support, additional pay or incentive. - Disorganisation when assigning tasks, which often are provided last minute and the goalposts are always moving. - Extreme lack of racial diversity across all departments which is hugely uncomfortable. - Nepotism and distinct favouritism of individuals and departments is plain to see. Opportunities therefore are not available to you if sit outside of that. The same goes for praise and acknowledgement of hard work and achievements.

Pros

You learn new software on your own and can look at various software packages to educate yourself.

Cons

Not paid for hours of work which included ideas, editing, coordination, status reports to name a few. Never reimbursed for my Word Press book I purchased on my own. Did recieve $25 in a gift card. Was told throughout the process what an excellent job I was doing....what a joke! I also laid out money for a back-up program using my own credit card.
