Pros

The mission is meaningful and genuinely focused on improving outcomes for students and school districts, making the work feel impactful. Direct managers are supportive, approachable, and invested in helping their teams succeed and develop professionally.

Cons

Edia has a talented team with a mission that is easy to get behind, but there are several realities prospective sales hires should understand before joining. The most important is compensation expectations. New Account Executives should not expect to earn anywhere near their on-target earnings for a significant period of time. Between the company's limited brand recognition, long K-12 sales cycles, and the amount of self-generated pipeline required, it can take well over a year to build enough momentum to consistently earn commissions. Anyone considering the role should be financially prepared for a lengthy ramp. The lack of brand awareness creates an uphill battle. The majority of opportunities come from cold outbound prospecting rather than inbound demand or referrals, so AEs spend a substantial portion of their time functioning as their own SDR. High activity expectations combined with low connect rates and frequent no-shows make pipeline generation extremely challenging. My direct managers were supportive, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in helping their teams succeed. Unfortunately, that support often did not extend to the executive level. Many decisions affecting the sales organization felt reactive rather than strategic, and there appeared to be a disconnect between executive leadership and the realities of enterprise sales. Frequent changes to territories, shifting priorities, and inconsistent sales direction made it difficult to build long-term momentum. For someone looking for a stable, well-established sales organization with predictable processes and earning potential, this may not be the right fit. Success requires significant patience, financial flexibility during the ramp period, and comfort operating in a constantly evolving environment.

Pros

The company has clear goal of making students' and teacher's lives better and easier, which really motivates the developers to make a great product. It's really good to work to build something nice. It will certainly grow a lot in the next years. Right now the company is still growing, so all employees can have direct contact with the CEO and CTO. It's also 100% remote and flexible, which is great too.

Cons

Beeing 100% remote makes it hard for developers to learn with each other, although you can always ask for help. I also missed a closer relationship with my coworkers, like you have in onsite companies.
