Pros

When I first joined EduEdge i honestly thought it’d just be another tuition centre job. First week I had a lesson observation and I was kinda panicking about my timing. My mentor sat me down after class and patiently showed me step by step what I did right and where I messed up a bit. That gave me clarity and made me feel like I wasn’t just left to sink or swim. The leadership here is solid. The bosses don’t just disappear after giving instructions. They actually coach and model what they expect. Feedback is always specific and useful, not just a generic “do better” kind of thing. The culture is also a big plus. People here genuinely care. We celebrate small wins, we help each other when things get overwhelming and yes, everyone is held accountable. It’s not always easy but you don’t feel like you’re on your own. One thing I really didn’t expect - I was given the opportunity to lead a project in my first year. I had zero experience running something like that but the team trusted me and guided me through it. ngl it was stressful, but super fulfilling. Came out of it a lot more confident. Training and support are next level. The frameworks and tools make lessons so much clearer for students and at the same time you grow in communication and leadership. I’ve learnt more here in a year than I did in several years elsewhere. If you just want a chill job this place isn’t it. But if you want to grow, make an impact with students and be pushed to your next level, EduEdge is honestly a great place to be 🙂

Cons

Work can get intense, especially during exam season. Everyone’s plates are full and you’ll definitely feel the crunch. Because the team sets high standards, there are times when feedback can feel overwhelming if you’re not used to it, but honestly, that’s also how you grow here. You learn to take it in stride and before long you realise your work has levelled up a lot. Not every idea you suggest will get picked up right away either, since processes need to be aligned across the team. So it’s not a place for someone who just wants to coast or stay in their comfort zone.

Pros

My experience at EduEdge provided me with strong exposure to backend administrative operations and the importance of structured processes in ensuring smooth day-to-day workflow. I developed a deeper sense of systems thinking, understanding how individual tasks contribute to overall organisational efficiency. The role also encouraged the use of technology, including integrating AI tools into daily work to enhance productivity and continuously improve processes. In addition, I strengthened my communication skills through regular customer interactions, gaining insights into the psychology behind customer decisions and how to manage expectations effectively. The experience reinforced the importance of attention to detail, clear and consistent communication, and effective task prioritisation in a fast-paced environment.

Cons

The fast-paced nature of the role can at times result in a high workload and pressure, particularly during peak periods. Some administrative tasks may also become repetitive over time, and the need for constant attention to detail can be mentally demanding.

Pros

My time as an intern at EduEdge is one which I am immensely grateful for. My internship journey was filled with many growth opportunities and allowed me to develop holistically both professionally and personally. My positive experience nonetheless would not be possible if it were not for the guidance of patient teachers and mentors who were willing to provide help whenever we faced roadblocks along the way. As the title of this reflection suggests, my internship experience is best captured by the phrase: teaching to learn, learning to teach. The opportunity to engage in hands-on teaching experience has been instrumental in my development and understanding of the teaching profession. My position as a co-teacher allowed me avenues of experimentation and learning in a safe environment under the tutelage of my mentors, while also being able to interact with students from the perspective of an educator. In this sense, I had the privilege of being both a learner and a teacher.

Cons

The workload might get heavy at times with submissions from different subject levels overlapping alongside other projects such as crafting the Canva video slides. This heavy workload might also inevitably mean that I would have to make sacrifices in my personal life in order to ensure that the given task at hand is done before the deadline. However, with difficulty comes the opportunity for growth and I believe that this pushed me to build better time management skills.
