Pros

- Employees are one of the only pros that made this company memorable for me. Sadly at my departure many had left and the remaining were extremely miserable - Offer outside training subsidized but remember you must put in time for this to be covered.

Cons

- Read your contract thoroughly. Many employees were promised 2 weeks vacation at contract signing and when attempting to take a second week, they discovered that there was a long standing loop hole that the company could exploit to dent a second week. They have also decided to reduce lunches for new employees effectively asking them to work 8.5 hours with only a 30 minute break. They hire young people in hopes that they do not understand labor laws. - No Hr department. - No training. - I was told I received the most training out of all the people there and all I got was about 7 hours and told to read the 170 page product manual. - Bad Benefits. The benefits were horrible when I began and were "under review" for about 6 months. A new benefit plan was implemented that created so much outrage that employees actually put in their notice. This was caused by a clear lack of understanding from management about the needs of the employees. - Advancement opportunities are not based on performance but rather based on who will fall in line most easily. Promotions in my department were based on who was there longest regardless of lacking any leadership or true sales ability. - Do not value the health and well-being of their employees. Multiple times I approached management about struggling with work-life balance and it got to a point where I was at the lowest point of my life. I was promised for close to my full time, that they were doing everything they could to fix it. - No work-life balance. You are expected to work 9 hours a day and then be responsive outside of work regardless of other commitments. - Favoritism - Regardless of demonstrated responsibility, employees are not allowed to work from home under any means unless they are management level., then they work from home every time the president is away. - The positive reviews on glassdoor are from employees that were asked to write positive reviews. I should also note; 6 negative reviews have been removed from this website in the past year. - When an employee leaves, there is no effort to replace them but instead the work is added onto another persons plate. - over 18 employees left or fired in my short time there. Many had differing views then the president. - Reviews are based on other peoples performance. Many peoples reviews consisted of other employees being praised and others being knocked down and told they are not ready for this or that. - Reviews and Bonuses do not occur in a timely matter despite being one of the only people to hit their bonus during the entirety of their employment Never expect job security. A significant amount of fear mongering exists, especially within customer service - satisfactory health and safety training ( never received the second part) - No more profit sharing - Finally, when I was ready to move on professionally. I let my direct manager know where I was going and gave 2 weeks notice. Over the next week, Senior management went around telling my coworkers and friends that they should ignore me and not talk to me. When I approached my direct manager about how bad this was and how illegal it could be taken (defamation of character), Senior management appeared at my door and I was walked out. I asked for a simple apology from this person for what they did and received nothing.

Pros

Other employees are great people You get a paycheck

Cons

Employees are not valued at all. They are seen as easily replaceable and disposable. President would rather lose hard working employees than give them what they deserve such as bonuses, raises, benefits and good working conditions (turn the heat on it's not that expensive!!!). Upper management gets treated like royalty however don't expect to reach that level as positions are hired for externally rather than giving internal staff a chance.

Employees ARE great people! We have both plenty of new hires (owing to growth) as well as people who have been with Egan over 30 years! It's pretty awesome. I'll share a few facts: Our compensation packages do, in fact, include competitive pay, bonuses, and benefits, and yes even heat (?). Anyone we invite to join the great people from Egan is given a written copy of all of this to consider for a minimum of 3 days before being asked for a decision.
