Seems great on the outside, rotten on the inside. - Senior Product Designer Elation Health Employee Review

Pros

I rarely write reviews, but my experience here raised serious concerns about how this company operates and treats its people. The organization runs on politics, not principles. Leadership promotes pretence over competence, and there's a troubling gap between confidence and capability at senior levels. Directors struggle with complexity and often oversimplify nuanced issues rather than engaging with them meaningfully. Those who ask honest questions quickly learn it's not valued. Critical thinking is discouraged in favor of alignment, and employees are penalized for intellectual curiosity that exposes gaps in leadership's thinking. What leadership dismisses as "overly complex questions" are often just substantive concerns they find inconveniently difficult to address. The organization values optics over substance, and strategic decisions frequently lack the analytical depth one would expect at this level. If you're someone who thinks critically and asks thoughtful questions, you'll find that's seen as a liability here, not an asset.

Cons

You spend more time navigating people than solving problems. If you value transparency, fairness or genuine teamwork, think carefully before joining. Good luck to anyone still trying to make a difference here.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re sorry to hear that your time at Elation didn’t reflect the culture we strive to create. The feedback you shared about leadership, communication, and how questions are received matters deeply to us and are areas we’re always working to strengthen. Without more specific details, it’s difficult to know which situations or teams you’re referring to (as we don't have any former Elation team members who match the title/location noted in the post), but we’d truly appreciate the opportunity to learn more if you're open to it. Please feel free to reach out to us at hr@elationhealth.com, any conversation will remain confidential. We’ve recently brought on a new Chief Product Officer to lead our Product and Design teams. This addition is part of our continued effort to bringing stronger alignment, clearer communication, and deeper collaboration across teams. We genuinely care about creating an environment where people feel heard, supported, and empowered to think critically. Feedback like yours helps us continue to learn and grow.

Pros

Working at Elation has been one of the most rewarding professional experiences I’ve had. From day one, it’s been clear how genuinely caring the team is — not just about the work, but about each other. There’s a shared passion for transforming the healthcare system for the better, and you can feel that energy in every meeting, conversation, and decision made. What sets Elation apart is the people. Everyone here is not only mission-driven but also incredibly progressive and hungry to learn. There’s a strong focus on using the most advanced tools and practices to empower the entire team, and that dedication to growth and innovation is contagious. I also really appreciate the effort people make to connect on a personal level. Whether it’s a quick check-in or thoughtful conversations beyond just work, there’s a real sense of community and belonging. I’m genuinely excited to work hard here because I know that effort is aligned with a mission that matters — and I’m surrounded by teammates who are just as motivated. Elation is more than a job; it’s a place where you can grow, contribute meaningfully, and be part of something bigger. Also the health benefits are incredible.

Cons

This isn't a job that you can show up and do the bare minimum, to be successful you must be passionate about the mission. I don't personally see this as a 'con' but for those who only care about paying the bills should check into other companies
