Pros

Good business concept given the current concerns in financial services.

Cons

Terrible business concept implementation. element22 could have had/have build out the expertise and abilities needed for work being taken on if leadership wasn’t remarkably incompetent. The partner overseeing my work was too hostile and impulsive to provide logical and reliable responses to simple questions. My job was micromanaged into an impossibility. I definitely don't miss being held responsible for poorly conceived assignments that accomplish nothing useful, are not possible with available resources, and/or that intend to convey information that's not inaccurate. The role was literally a different position than what I interviewed and signed a job offer for. After a couple of months they insisted I couldn't be kept on unless I took a pay cut of 50%. I really don't think this was out of financial necessity so much as an impulse to play games that cause harm to "others." Did they do the same thing with an old buddy of the partners who was on my team? Doubtful. There was also an attempt to manipulate me into doing unpaid work I allegedly "owed" when I no longer worked there. What made the unpaid labor shenanigan truly pathetic was that the assignment could have been done weeks before I left, but I was berated for even bringing it up and then instructed to do a bunch of stuff that made no sense to be focusing on. It was the same arrogance and terrible decision-making that defined most of my experience at element22. I still can't believe I turned down an actual job offer for whatever that was.
