Don't be fooled by the 5 star reviews. If you look you'll see management does a clean up job submitting false reviews. That sums up how this place operates - To say that folks are not set up for success is an understatement. I have worked at a few different early stage start-ups and Elise is by far the WORST run company I've seen or ever heard of within my 5 years in Tech industry. Direction and expectations change constantly creating an environment where it's impossible to take accountability. Senior leadership has no prior work experience and it shows. The motto of over promise and under deliver is actually espoused by leadership. There is a culture of fear, blame, and toxic competition and manipulation that is portrayed onto every team. Hence why all the software engineers are quitting. You are treated like an expendable here (in any position) the truth has come out and the company is starting to break down because of it. EliseAI went from being one of the best AI companies to dirt poor with a terribly toxic environment over the last 10 months..... No one expected things to take such a hard turn. I cannot share why or my review would be taken down but just know - this company will not survive 3 years from now. If it's still standing I would be absolutely shocked!

The scheduling was flexible and there were some kind people on my team that I genuinely enjoyed working with which is why I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1.

First off, management has several issues and they never seem to be addressed despite all of the surveys employees are asked to answer. Communication is honestly the worst I've ever seen at any job I've been at. If you need help during a project, you'd be better off figuring it out on your own because you will receive answers only hours later if at all. Upper management is even worse. If you make a mistake of any kind, instead of addressing it in order to help improve, you'll just be removed from the project entirely so you won't even get the chance to know what you did wrong. The upper management won't tell you themselves and will send someone else to do their dirty work for them. Secondly, like many other reviews have mentioned, a lot of the higher reviews are fake. We've were even told as employees to go and leave more positive reviews which is a joke. So, please take all of the more positive reviews with a grain of salt. Lastly, you'll be let go with no warning, no lead up, nothing. I barely got more than a "oh well, sorry" kind of explanation and after I had already worked half of a shift. I know this is an AI company and I believe not all AI is bad, but here they'll replace you with AI without a second thought.
