Pros

- 4 day work week. Good work-life balanced if you enforce it yourself - Remote first - Most of the people are nice and friendly and genuinely want to make a positive impact

Cons

- low pay and lackluster benefits: there is no 401k match, they cover part of health insurance premium, but less than other places. equity options are not even worth considering - Not a place you can advance your career. - CEO is actively tanking her own business and is taking everyone down with her. At the end of 2022, she tried to sell the business and failed due to Emtrain’s low revenue and high head count. Since then, she fired most of her senior leadership team and re-took control of running the business, and has gone through multiple rounds of layoffs. She has little knowledge of her own business operations and has provided no real plan on how to right the ship, which results in an overall lack of direction and state of confusion across the board. She also has a huge ego and takes no accountability for her actions or the state of the business. In general, kind of the opposite of the company values.

I'm sorry you were impacted by the layoffs in 2023 as we right-sized our expenses to be more in line with our revenue. I'm glad to report that our audited financials now show a financially healthy business.

Pros

I’ve been with Emtrain for almost five years as a Strategic Account Executive, and it’s been rewarding to grow with a company that truly stands behind its mission. The heart of Emtrain starts with our founder and CEO—one of the hardest-working, most resilient leaders I’ve worked with. Her vision and commitment to ethical, human-centered workplace training genuinely shape the culture. Emtrain has been around for 20 years, which says a lot in this market. The company continues to adapt and evolve while staying true to its purpose. I truly believe in the product—our training is modern, relatable, compliant, and easy to stand behind when working with clients. The team is supportive, responsive, and genuinely caring. Even as a fully remote company, there’s real connection, collaboration, and leadership that consistently prioritizes doing right by our clients.

Cons

Because we’re a small but mighty organization, not every process is fully built out. This requires flexibility, creativity, and a willingness to help shape how things are done. For the right person, it’s an opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

Pros

I have been working at Emtrain for years. We have been through cultural shifts like #metoo, BLM, and changing regulations like the recent presidential executive orders. Lucky for us, the founder and CEO is a visionary, predicting what is coming next and guiding the company and our clients during these challenging and pivotal times. Other compliance companies are not so lucky to have an employment attorney at the helm. In the seven years that I have remote worked for Emtrain, I have held 4 roles in 4 different departments, and each of those role changes were met with flexibility and autonomy. If you are looking for a role where you are treated like an adult, and are looking to contribute to the greater good, I recommend talking to someone at Emtrain.

Cons

The cons are the usual cons at every company. At the end of the day, the "company" is about individual people and communication. If you have issues with co-workers, it is about your mindset and ability to communicate with others. Emtrain creates content around these very topics. Any employee issues I have had at Emtrain, I have worked out with the team. When I have a complaint about something, I am heard. I have been here for a long time and have no plans of going anywhere anytime soon!
