Pros

Looking back, I really enjoyed my time at EnablePath. I had a chance to work with some pretty damn smart people. My two direct bosses were both really good. I had some tough projects, but that would go for any consulting firm. Made some good work friends who I hope to keep in touch with throughout the years.

Cons

There was a flurry of negative reviews around the time I left. And then - Imagine that! - a flurry of good reviews to combat the bad ones. It seemed kinda obvious management asked the troops to leave some good reviews. I would have done the same thing though I reckon. I'm sure EnablePath expected me to leave another bad review. So I wanted to take a few months and let the dust settle. Looking back, I am not going to write a 'bad' review, because overall it was a very good experience for me. My exit was not very graceful, but a large portion (hell, all of it?) was my fault. There were some personalities I did not mesh with, but again, that's anywhere you go. Not every employee will be your best friend, which is fine, you don't need to be friends with all of your co-workers, just professional. EnablePath was very top heavy, meaning a handful of very large salaries at the top that did not generate revenue. From when I started until now, the CIO, COO, CEO, and CSO have all departed for one reason or another, with no plans to be backfilled. It doesn't take a financial engineer to assume that's over a million bucks in EBITDA a year. They had a great bonus plan, paid monthly. Then they changed it to some crazy quarterly plan with 1,000 inputs, and it's like a game of Plinko on The Price is Right. You just put your coin in the top and just kinda see where your bonus comes in at. Vacation was "OK". I saw a fair amount of career advancement potential. They do a monthly office reimbursement. I traveled a fair amount, 25%.

Pros

- Working remotely, although travel had become more frequent in my last 6 months with the company. - There are still one or two skilled developers at the company.

Cons

- High Turnover in leadership and delivery positions - Projects frequently fail or go far over budget due to high turnover rates. In the last 12 months, about half of my projects were those where I was pulled in when another resource quit. - Middle managers are over-burdened with non-management (ie build/delivery) work - Many talented EnablePathers have left. Only a handful of people have been there > 2 years. - Not much opportunity for advancement - Small teams with little interaction from others in your role, meaning fewer chances to learn from more experienced TAs, SAs, and EMs. - Many newer developers seem to be knowledgeable about coding in general, but it seemed like they were still trying to learn how to code in Salesforce. Ran into many issues where a dev wasn't aware of certain standard functionality in Salesforce or would write code that caused a governor limit error.
