Pros

The trauma bond this environment will create for you with a few smart, talented, and resilient colleagues will likely last a lifetime.

Cons

It doesn’t matter how experienced, capable, or hardworking you are, this company will wear you down. You’ll constantly be chasing unclear expectations, trying to meet a CEO’s standards that are not only unreasonably high but also never explicitly communicated. Feedback, when it comes, is rarely constructive. Instead, it’s vague, personal, and demoralizing, offering no meaningful path for improvement. The emotional toll of working here far outweighs any professional benefit. The CEO’s leadership style is defined by intimidation, manipulation, and gaslighting, and no one is exempt. Whether you’re a senior leader or an individual contributor, you are walking on eggshells. This isn’t just “toxic,” it’s a textbook case of a psychologically unsafe workplace. Some may try to excuse this dynamic as typical of startups — PLEASE don’t buy it. Entromy has been around for over a decade and is no longer a startup by any meaningful definition, and this narrative is not only false, it’s gaslighting. Dysfunction is not a prerequisite for innovation, and unhealthy work environments are not the norm in early-stage companies. Despite everything, there are some incredibly smart and resilient people still somehow working at Entromy, and they’re the only bright spot. But even that won’t last. A significant portion of the company is actively job searching, and leadership knows it. They often push remaining employees to post positive Glassdoor reviews in a desperate effort to mask high turnover and sustain recruiting efforts. There is no training. No structured onboarding. No raises (not even for cost of living, not even once for the longest-tenured employees) and the bonuses you may be counting on often are slashed in half or vanish completely without notice or explanation. As people leave, their workload is quietly passed to those still standing, with no added support, recognition, or relief. In short: proceed with caution. The damage this company can do to your confidence and well-being is real, the financial reward is nonexistent, and the résumé upside is minimal at best.

Pros

Entromy is a great place to work for anyone who thrives during times of change and has a solid growth mindset. Working for a small and ambitious organization means that people who are looking to develop professionally are afforded the chance to take on challenges that they otherwise may not be empowered to handle. I have found this to be quite rewarding; it has allowed me to see my own capabilities more clearly and build upon my confidence. Entromy has done well building a strong culture in a remote, globally based environment. This is a testament to the emphasis our CEO puts on collaboration and building relationships across BUs, regardless of physical proximity to other employees. The Entromy Leadership Team is incredibly intelligent and is comprised of experts in the Private Equity and Org Health spaces - As a Sr Customer Success Manager, I am fortunate to have access to thought partner with these incredible leaders and participate in C-Suite level client conversations that have truly elevated my own professional skillset. Lastly, I am afforded recognition and constant feedback in a way that helps me focus on the work I am doing, rather than worry about whether or not I am meeting/exceeding expectations. It also helps me focus on what I can do to grow and better myself professionally in a manner I've not had access to in prior workplaces.

Cons

As a small team, we often rely on the work of other teams to deliver for our clients. This can pose issue when there are conflicting perceptions of urgency as well as what constitutes 'resolution' related to the deliverable. Performance management company wide is still getting ironed out and is necessary to ensure employees know and adhere to what is expected of them for the benefit of Entromy, our colleagues and clients. For employees who are committed to being adaptable, agile, and who do the right thing (not just what is 'easiest') this has not been an issue.

Pros

- Below-market base salary (a pro relative to the cons) - Decent human beings sometimes unfortunately end up here - Remote

Cons

Strategy & Direction Marketed as a startup but operates as a lifestyle business with no clear strategy beyond occasional PowerPoint exercises. Multiple rounds of turnover every 1-2 years reflect underlying issues. Product & Operations Claims to be product-led software but runs more like a service business. Product decisions historically driven by internal feedback rather than customer needs. The PE talent optimization niche has limited market pull, and execution consistently misses the mark. Leadership Highly centralized decision-making with micromanagement in many ways. No clear values or mission articulated. Culture and people management have not been prioritized, contributing to recurring turnover. Compensation Below-market pay with unfulfilled commission/bonus expectations. For a company advising on talent management, the gap between advice given and internal practices is significant and ironic. Hiring & Processes Interview processes are disorganized. Job descriptions tend to be unclear. Meetings are frequent and often lack clear outcomes. Documentation is verbose and not regularly updated. Career Growth Limited advancement opportunities. Promotions come with below-market increases. High performers often leave once they understand the operational reality. Culture Remote-first without strong cultural foundation. Limited in-person connection despite being periodically discussed as important. No clear company identity or "way of doing things." Advice Best suited as a short-term stepping stone if you need immediate employment. Significant gap between external positioning and internal reality. Consider carefully if you have other options.
