Pros

Most of the staff are lovely, great team spirit. People within my team were always willing and ready to help me. The company spent a lot fostering a good team spirit, there were a lot of team activities. The office is relaxed and nice to work in.

Cons

When I was told about the job I was informed of my salary. However, on my first day when I got there and signed my contract I was informed that this had changed to a lot less. By this time i was out of work so had no choice to go for lower salary. I think this is bad practice and put me in a difficult situation. Not to mention this also happen to someone else on my team. I was informed that after 6 months this would be reviewed (pushing me back to my intended salary). However, when this time came I was told that there was a 'freeze on pay increases' despite later finding out other employees had pay increases within the same week. The company had a 'transparency' policy but from what I was when i was there this was not the case. In a meeting to discuss the business's progress that year we were faced with inaccurate statistics and phoney graphs. Whilst directors seemed to be lining their pockets staff seemed to be suffering. The company seems to be pumped full of people's relatives and friends. Obviously nepotism, to an extent, plays a part in all business situations. However, in this case it is taken too far with many people simply incapable of preforming job roles or simply being kept on the books to keep directors' families in work whilst being lazy and drag to the team. Equator seems all too keen to play favourites.

Pros

I was a summer intern at Equator Design and had an amazing experience! I learned so much in such a short amount of time as I was lucky enough to learn from three different departments, account management, photography and pr/marketing. My supervisors, Andi Summers, Lisamarie Cerny and Sally Mackrill were all incredibly supportive and informative.

Cons

I have nothing negative to say.

Pros

Nice people, cool office space, good designer scheduling system/management -- allows designers to end their days at 8 hours which is uncommon at an agency.

Cons

Low salaries, no growth opportunities, toxic people in leadership positions, non-existent culture.
