Pros
1. People. The best part about EquiLend is the people. EquiLend puts substantial weight during the interview process to hire people that are smart, driven, and most importantly kind. I've built some great relationships during my time here, and it makes work that much more enjoyable. Everyone here is motivated to succeed and advance their careers, and it fosters an exciting environment. There is also a lot of good and regular interaction between the different regions globally. All desks have a camera, so it is easier to speak with and form relationships with people based in locations across the globe.
2. Benefits and perks. The benefits are great compared to where I’ve worked in the past. The traditional benefits are fantastic (e.g., starting PTO balance of four weeks, generous employer-subsidized health insurance, 401(k) contributions vest immediately, etc.), and the perks are great (e.g., cold brew on tap, summer hours, stocked kitchen, casual dress, etc.)
3. Growth opportunities. EquiLend invests in individual growth, whether it’s formal training opportunities or the ability to step up and take on additional responsibilities. You’ll work hard at EquiLend. This place can be demanding, but the work you do will be fulfilling, and you can create your own career path (within reason) if you are a consistently strong performer and seek out the right mentorship. Also, due to the size of the company, you can see how your hard work directly impacts EquiLend and its mission.
Cons
Overall, I highly recommend EquiLend as a place to work for the reasons I mentioned above. The only recommendation I have to the management team is allowing more flexibility to employees in terms of work arrangements. The company is great at permitting ad-hoc work from home requests but does not have a company-wide policy to allow periodic WFH arrangements.
