Pros

The only pro I can think of is Work-Life Balance .. I never needed to work on weekends European MNC culture.. finishing working is important rather from where and when your are working Had a very positive outlook thanks to Ericsson Global Brand but EGI is non-service , non-product which means you will be stuck with a product maintenance fixing bugs and fighting with other teammates to write a few lines of code/work that will come every few months If you like to increase Telecom Knowledge and earn more work as Tester in Ericsson Global..not EGI I am a very optimistic person and that is why I stayed until now.I am literally walking on a wall , a slight poke from the management will get me out of this . They promote themselves to CMMI lvl5 in just 3years by bribing ..lol

Cons

Indian wing (especially CSI-ADM) is just misusing and abusing the Ericsson brand. IBM management so only cost-cutting wrt employees, but huge salary hikes for themselves and Tech Leads. No appropriate technical work. Just to get one's technical/skill based work/assignment (even Java), one has to really struggle. It's not a service company, not a pure product company, so only loss for employees. Transparency is just to show-off, not real. Managers lack in telecom and technical awareness even. Your IPM assessment is based on ridiculous factors like Trainings, Time-booking, Idea Box(need to implement 2 Ideas per year and your Ideas keep getting rejected). So every employee in Q3 and Q4 discusses more on Innovation Ideas rather their work, because everyone knows they can work while sleeping. Very political, rigid management. No salary hike or bonus (except very very specific departments). Rating/Hike tools and policies are there including HR, but of no use and not in practice at all. Very good feedback can never guarantee good hike, Management gets feedback from Customer(other Ericsson Group) and rates you according to that. Seen people with bad feedback suffer and also good feedback suffer. Hikes are only for the Team Leads and Senior Engineers without whom the management thinks the product cannot survive. But management doesn't realize every member in the Team is as capable as the other. If you are starting your career here you are actually destroying it.No sort of SDLC. Management has no idea on how to do things. You wont be eligible to work in any other company because of this and end up a very below average developer.Believe me your not learn anything, start doing pet projects on weekend and learn stuff that will enable you to switch.Only 10% of those who join as freshers will code(even if they start as tester) rest will be wasting time. You will be a tester by default then work your way up if you are lucky and developers leave your project/company. Work Expectations seems to be misplaced. Architect/Team-lead will be designing, coding 90% of work, your inputs will be rejected because 1. you don't have experience .. which will put you on defense 2. Because it is not the standard(his standard). Software or Senior-software Engineer will be testing 90% of time and scripting or bug fixing 10%. Most teams don't have dedicated tester, if your team has one you are lucky . There will be a tester because he is being paid good... yes more than a developer of same experience because he knows how to test in an outdated tool and also has telecom basics drilled into his brain. Ericsson has huge money to buy products and increase its market, but it will be exhausted if they don't do a real RnD. I just wish they are doing it in Sweden or US.Otherwise competitors like Hauwei and Alcatel can quote less amount for the services your provide at a high cost and close your shop which is already in a slump. Ericsson pays 30% less than what the market is offering for a candidate. If you want cheat hire from 3rd rate colleges for your 3rd rate work and give them 10% hike every year. On site opportunities are only for a Solution Integrator which is another boring work. Most of the Task are repetitive and Projects are bulky and kind of data base management. Never gives promised 100% variable.. not even 10%.. it is 5% Hike will be 2-3% for bad, 5 -7% for average, 10% for very good, 15% for Senior Management/Team Leads All the Positive review are from new joiners, senior management , Team Leads and non-EGI(Global) Employees. FYI: RndD in Chennai is just for name sake and they also do customer bug fixing. Join only if you interested in Telecom or have 10years of experience in it and want to relax for next few years. One will easily get demotivated as they think Life sucks to the core since they seen no room for career growth..and lost in a big contingent of people Luck and buttering is all that matters in Ericsson. I wrote this lengthy review not because I hate the Management but I cannot bear to watch the Brand damaged any further due to pure management. My work is exceptional and praised by manager, which I can do while sleeping. waiting for management to give me a proper project. Pros

-Technological superior to most other companies with use of AI and promising future tech/programs -benefits and pay are very competetive -room for professional growth and advancement if you know how to work in a corporate environment -resume development and professional advancement

Cons

-leadership ideology doesnt match the company/CEOs mission statement or belief (company is said to be all for safety yet leaders get put in charge and quickly dismantle and lay off 3 quarters of the safety department) -Leadership changes structure to benefit themselves by having all support functions report to them instead of the CEO, this ensures all support functions take a back seat to production and financial gain to include their employees well being -Company restructured and reorganizes very often while showing no loyalty to the employees who work hard and want to stay, this leads to turn over of great employees.
