Pros

Free gym membership. Flexible (ish) hours. Average commission.

Cons

EA are extremely good at telling you what you want to hear during a transition and then doing the complete opposite once they’re in the door. The hours are long due to unrealistic targets. I went from having full access to our systems and being able to do anything and everything a customer needed to having to ring Head Office everytime a minor change needed to be made to a customer’s account. I also witnessed another member of staff (who was then promoted to Manager) take a customer’s sort code/account number over the phone and then forging this customer’s signature on a direct debit form - wouldn’t be surprised if they lost their direct debit licence soon. Will do whatever it takes for a sale. There’s no consistency - if you ask different managers they will all tell you different things. General team morale was awful. Managers turn up as/when they feel like it. They use paperwork for everything! I left within 3 months of them taking over as it was horrendous and I haven’t looked back since.

Pros

Large company with options to relocate around the country, if you wanted to. Very good with health and safety procedures, majority of processes ready to be implemented.

Cons

Very sales driven. Targets, KPIs and profits are prioritised over colleagues and members. Sales team expected to give up personal time on end of month. You're expected to check and respond to emails when you're off or on annual leave. The company is very clique, you don't really progress unless you know someone in a senior role. Salary is always advertised as 'competitive' however, the pay doesn't justify the work you're required to do, or the extra time you work without pay. It's frown upon to claim for time worked outside of your contracted hours. There is no such thing as work life balance: you're expected to work day all the time and not be paid for it.
