Pros

I have been working for Everyone Active since 2015 when our contract was taken over from the council. In that time I have seen the business grow, even after the recent lockdowns (hence the headline "Always moving forward") I have worked in leisure for more than 20 years in both the private and public sectors and I can say without a doubt Everyone Active has been the best employer in those 20 plus years. Over the last 7 years I have seen many many of my colleagues progress up the ladder from apprentice all the way to Duty Manager and this is due to the culture the company has created (especially here in Sunderland). I would recommend working for Everyone Active at all levels and while it can be hard work at times (as it should be) its always a good laugh to come to work and we are always busy which I love as your shift passes quickly.

Cons

Sometimes we have to act quickly and potential save lives which can put people off being a Lifeguard or Swim Teacher, but don't let that put you off as full training is given and we practice our skills every single month.

Pros

Large company with options to relocate around the country, if you wanted to. Very good with health and safety procedures, majority of processes ready to be implemented.

Cons

Very sales driven. Targets, KPIs and profits are prioritised over colleagues and members. Sales team expected to give up personal time on end of month. You're expected to check and respond to emails when you're off or on annual leave. The company is very clique, you don't really progress unless you know someone in a senior role. Salary is always advertised as 'competitive' however, the pay doesn't justify the work you're required to do, or the extra time you work without pay. It's frown upon to claim for time worked outside of your contracted hours. There is no such thing as work life balance: you're expected to work day all the time and not be paid for it.
