Pros

Good for resumes. You will learn a lot of different techniques and get training on many chemistry tests. You can then take that knowledge and use it in an interview when you get a real job. They are a legit business, nothing they do is illegal, so that's nice.

Cons

Terrible everything. If you can imagine a way that a lab could be terrible, this place has it. With the exception of a new TOC analyzer and two calorimeters everything is old and constantly breaks down. Wages are poor. If you are a driver you can expect long drives across the state, sometimes without OT, in old, high mileage vehicles that will break down. Management is not reliably present and will fight with each other in front of employees. You will be yelled at. There is no consistent waste management system, instead they just let it pile up until it takes up all available space.

Pros

Legitimate business serving legitimate clients. You receive legitimate work experience that enables you to get a better job ASAP. Management will give you a chance regardless of previous experience. Consistent position availability. If the team is good, you'll have fun.

Cons

Couriers had to drive to Riverside, CA roundtrip in one shift (18-20 hours) without overtime pay. Lab equipment is unreliable - lots of downtime and troubleshooting. Owners are very condescending, pompous, and arrogant. If you can analyze the bottom line, you can be ahead of her rants and outbursts about expenses (possibly call in sick that day!). Vehicles constantly broke down stranding drivers in middle California in the early morning hours. Project and Lab Managers are the go-to resources for staff, owners schedule is never consistent. If called in for an interview, the owner will make you wait (power move?).
