Pros

The work we do at Fabric is cutting edge and super interesting if you are in or even adjacent to public health: we are in laundromats on the daily helping people get and navigate their benefits and care! If that sounds too messy or uncomfortable or you aren't a people person, this might not be the job for you. If you are used to or welcome that want to work somewhere that puts their money where their mouth is around their culture and values, Fabric is the place to be. I was here for under 1 year and I got PAID paternity leave, my manager and the rest of leadership was super supportive, and I never felt bad or pressured to work overtime or anything to make up for it. Expectations are (reasonably) high, but the support and pay reflect that. Also the fact that all full time staff get equity in the company again reflects that the company is putting its money where its mouth is.

Cons

Working at a early stage start up has its challenges! We have a lot of things figured out, but we also have our share of growing pains too. We are growing rapidly and there are plenty of new faces to learn and get a feel for. There are not 20 policies and procedures that outline every single process or practice in place either. Its not a big deal for me, but I could see that being bothersome to others.

Pros

Fabric's mission to help families better access public benefits and navigate their healthcare is not only a worthwhile cause - it's also challenging and exciting! This is a great team of supportive humans who care about each other and the communities they serve.

Cons

We're a startup, so not a downside but need to be ready to wear many hats and be creative!
