Pros

accessible public transit, work hard but not smart

Cons

low salary, very few people, not financially stable, codebase needs a HUGE improvement, no fancy technologies. Attitude problems and credit issues. "You" are really not a technical guy, please do not pretend "you" are.

Pros

Ficstar is a fantastic place to work, with strong work ethics and a supportive culture. The company truly trusts its employees, encouraging initiative and fostering a collaborative, empowering environment.

Cons

A minor drawback at Ficstar is the small team size. While it fosters close collaboration, having more team members could further enhance knowledge-sharing and bring fresh perspectives.

Pros

Get to work with really cool technologies that you wouldn't normally get to experiment with in a larger software company. It's a collaborative environment where everyone treats you equally and respectfully. Coworkers are very open-minded to all new ideas and aren't afraid to share their opinions and take feedback. There is a creative and disciplined (but healthy) work ethic: strong proponents of TDD, agile methodologies, and pair programming. Close contact with prominent clients creates immediate feedback and gratification; sense of responsibility for creating a positive impact. The office is conveniently located right in the heart of downtown Toronto with many great restaurants and shops close by. There is good coffee onsite (this one perk of being in the same building as the Dineen Coffee Co.); the boss even takes requests for specialty coffees. Also, there's free beer in the downstairs lounge on Wednesdays!

Cons

Somewhat far from my current living location after moving to the downtown office. We recently received a large influx of new work, and as a result, it is in a very busy time right now. Hopefully we can get some new people on our team to help us continue working on our really interesting projects.
