Pros

Free gym in the building. If you are favorited and don't complain about promised raises in pay and/or anything like I did, you are safe (maybe).

Cons

Constant shift in organization of company including but not limited to upper and lower management of client facing, product, and technology teams. No real HR department. HR is now also over the CS team - who does that team go to with issues? HR also routinely gossips with others after company firings...is that even legal? Promises of pay raises to accompany new titles and increased responsibilities but never delivered for years. Promises of new titles/responsibilities never delivered. Consistent firings of internal DEV and Product teams alongside new contracts with outside technology companies - another revolving door. No understanding (or concern) from the top about the importance/infinite number of tasks performed on a daily basis by CS, DI, App Ops, Product teams which makes firings more detrimental to the company than the individual. It is very clear certain firings are distinctly ego-based with no foresight on company-wide impact. Paradoxical protection of certain agents with no company knowledge or real responsibilities - weight of hammer falls on the underpaid employees doing all of the work. Websites have been down for more than 2-7 days at a time at least once a year for the last 3 years. Technology issues happen...but when this occurs, no information is given to employees, management over-promises the work of lower teams in regards to recovery/client retainment plans without understanding what is needed to fulfill promises, and lower/mid level employees are fired unnecessarily Higher turnover rate ensures more "safety" time for some employees who slack on their responsibilities, put their responsibilities on others, are generally toxic, or truly don't care about the company. It isn't just management - some people who are there shouldn't be and some people who quit/were fired would be making a difference today. I'll leave it there. At this point, it seems like unless you are a reference/friend of the company's investors, you will be A)overworked and underpaid, B) unsafe from seemingly random firings to protect mid/upper management, C)promised things to get dirty jobs done and then never delivered what you were promised, or all of the above.

Pros

The team and the company are extremely open and welcoming. I have only been with them for a short time, but I feel as though I have been working with everyone much longer, in a good way

Cons

Pros

The sweetest and funniest people I've had the pleasure of working with. Everyone on my team is so kind and willing to help out. The leadership team is not at all standoffish, and while I've only seen people in person twice, everyone has been so friendly and kind. The work from my perspective is great. My team is very collaborative and no ones ego is tied up in it. Constructive criticism is encouraged and received well. I've learned a ton here and been able to grow a lot as a developer. It seems like we've been growing a ton too, getting a lot of new clients and contracts and retaining the ones we already had. Our customers seem really happy.

Cons

Benefits are lackluster. No 401k match. High deductible on the healthcare plan, although there's some attempts to offset that. Paid leave is abysmal. PTO and sick days share one bucket, so if you're sick for a week or two you'll wipe out a lot of PTO. I've discussed the leave policy before and been told it's actually quite good (16 days per year as opposed to unlimited at my last job). No parental leave. The upside of all this is work is quite flexible. I can easily take an hour or so for an appointment, or make up time later if I have to be gone for a while. There's no yearly raise, although there are merit raises occasionally.
