Pros

FS has 20+ years of success and the ever changing edtech landscape requires dedicated product improvements and innovation which are being done. Strong leadership, training and company culture all focused on improving school outcomes.

Cons

Typical struggles in edtech but a strong team to lead from the front and listen when change is needed.

Pros

Amazing Culture, Benefits, Compensation, and Bonus Structure. Industry leading WFH stipend.

Cons

None that I can think of now other than there is a slight segmentation of teams (which happens any at company) so there are still a lot of people I am unfamiliar with.

Pros

Remote work, good benefits, fair salary. Team members were great to work with, for the most part we usually had each other's back and respected each other. Over the years the company did grow and made some great improvements. However, there were still several more that should have been made.

Cons

Lack of communication between departments, lack of strong management in departments. Every year management would state that they're still going through "growing pains". After hearing this for 15 years - it gets old quick. They lack the ability to enforce procedures that are in place which leads to the lack of communication. While documentation was available in several different formats, several employees were not aware of the procedures, guidelines or the processes. Lack of training for new employees was also an issue, there was never any time to properly train new employees because of the insane workload. Over the years work life balance gradually got worse, the expectation was to work a minimum of 45-50 per week, employees were overbooked with work and given unrealistic timelines. Several rounds of layoffs have occurred in the past 5 years, good, knowledgable people have been let go, and much of the work is outsourced overseas to tech companies that have lower salary requirements who lack the knowledge of the key components of the base software.
