Pros

Firstup offers a level of flexibility that makes it easy to do your best work, especially with a fully remote environment that is genuinely supported. The leadership team is transparent and communicative, which builds trust and helps connect day-to-day work to broader company goals. Benefits are competitive and thoughtfully designed. The recent shift to a pay-for-performance model is a positive step that rewards impact and reinforces a culture of accountability. The talent bar is high, and working alongside driven, capable colleagues is both motivating and energizing.

Cons

The pace is fast, which may not suit everyone. Priorities can shift quickly, and there is an expectation to adapt. That said, for those who enjoy a fast paced environment, this can be a positive.

Pros

Fast-paced environment with talented, motivated people who genuinely care about the company's success and customers. There are opportunities to make a meaningful impact, take ownership, and grow professionally. Leadership is focused on innovation and continuous improvement, and employees are encouraged to contribute ideas and challenge the status quo. The culture is collaborative, supportive, and driven by results.

Cons

The pace can be demanding at times, and priorities may shift as the company continues to evolve and respond to market opportunities. Success requires adaptability and a willingness to embrace change, but that also creates opportunities to learn and grow.

Pros

Good work life balance, with unlimited PTO for US based employees. The product is used, and relied on by some big companies, so there is a real impact to the work.

Cons

After a string of disappointing C suite leaders, and several waves of turnover, both voluntary and not, the Product and Engineering organization is a mess. A culture of fear and mistrust has been building, creating a generally unpleasant place to work. Outside of the leadership issues, the teams are all remote, with many spread across global timezones. This limits collaboration and encourages solo development, which has had a negative impact on product quality. Leading to a high level of quiet burnout that people do not feel safe sharing. Overall there is a feeling that Firstup has squandered these past few years. There is a growing feeling of helplessness, and my sense is, if left unaddressed, will change it from just being an unpleasant place to work to something much worse.
