Pros

(Most relevant to the design department within the company) The perfect company to jumpstart your career in environmental management and design. You will always have knowledgeable and experienced specialists on hand to guide you through your development. You will undergo site visits, as built site visits and be encouraged to learn new skills giving variety to the day to day work. Can fully work from home.

Cons

I would recommend a keen interest in riparian management as progression within the design department is limited to the environmental consultant and designer position.

Pros

Inclusive, progressive, relaxed culture. The ecology team exude genuine passion, enthusiasm and knowledge for/of the natural environment and all share the ultimate goal of enhancing, restoring and protecting it to the best of their ability. They are a really awesome group of people to work with. The variety of the work is also a massive pro, different projects one week to the next. One week you'll be conducting fish surveys on a beautiful chalk stream, the next you could be doing a water vole survey or seine netting a huge lake!

Cons

The main one would have to be the large amount of driving/travelling we have to do different sites/projects. We operate across the country but are based in the south, this can result in a lot of very early starts/late finishes with a lot of driving in between. We also stay away a lot which is nice when it's all confirmed/booked in advance with due time to prepare, but due to the fluidity of the work, things can change at the drop of a hat and you may be suddenly staying away for a week on very short notice.
