Pros

The folks who do the work, your designers, project managers, tech team, etc., are all wonderful. These are talented people who care about the work and are good at what they do. They take pride in doing a good job and work very hard to put out a quality product.

Cons

Like the others have said, the biggest con about Flightpath is the CEO, Jon Fox. Running the company like his personal fiefdom, Jon Fox has some of the most ridiculous business practices I've ever seen. He will routinely force teams to underestimate projects from both a time and cost perspective, and then will immediately halve the estimate when it comes to his desk for final approval. Then, when the work comes in over budget and delayed, he will hold anyone but himself responsible for the overages. Jon is unfortunately very immature, and like others have said, prone to grudges. He gets angry for no reason, and is a perfect case study for "reactive" versus "proactive." Get on his bad side and you could easily find yourself fired for zero legitimate reason. He's a wrongful termination lawsuit waiting to happen. Good talent abounds here, but they leave far too often or far too soon once they see the underbelly of this place. It's a shame, because Flightpath could do some amazing things if Jon Fox was out of the picture. Instead, nobody has any idea who they are or what they do.

Pros

Jon and Steve have built up a really great company with smart and creative employees across the board. Big shoutout to John Lee as well for killing it across literally every single account the agency has. The man basically works 80 hour days and I’m not sure how he does it. I was pleasantly surprised to see how hands on and committed they all are as my previous managers and directors tended to take the backseat. Everyone at this company works really hard, and not just because they’re short-staffed. They all seem to genuinely care and want to put out good work. I felt that there was a lot of room for me to help across teams and I appreciated the opportunity to voice my perspective and ideas.

Cons

From an account exec perspective, I didn’t really have much to complain about. I’m only leaving because I was offered a really great opportunity elsewhere and couldn’t turn it down. However I will say that the graphic designers, web developers and marketing team (esp the marketing team) are very overworked as the teams are understaffed and resource allocation is a constant battle. I know they’re actively trying to hire more people to help balance the scale, but that’s the current reality.
