Pros

We're selling a solution to solve a challenging problem, eliminating non-violent crime. There are many growth opportunities and we're selling into an untapped market. The people in the business are really smart, I constantly learn new things about myself. The product is sick, only getting better, very affordable. Equity.

Cons

The challenges with a growing company I experience at Flock are the same challenges I faced at previous start-ups.

Pros

-Hands-on, bought in Executive Leadership. There are 2 Founders, including the CEO, still leading the company. C-suite is transparent, direct, responsive, empathetic and always willing to help. This goes for any employee that reaches out -Top Tier investors like a16z and Tiger Direct -Products make a tangible impact on society, improving the safety and security of the communities that Flock supports. There are countless stories per day involving preventing shootings, recovering stolen vehicles and missing children, returning the elderly to their families, apprehending criminals who started forest fires and more -Optimal hiring profile, focusing on kind, gritty individuals that do not let the definition of their roles get in the way of success, are highly responsive and just want to be successful. It is impressive that Flock has maintain this culture at scale -Career development is a focus area. Leaders ask their employees about their goals and present realistic career paths proactively, as does People Strategy

Cons

-Flock is fast paced and constantly changing. New products, new markets, etc. If you are not energized by running towards a challenge in an environment focused on building, not maintaining, this may not be the right culture for you

Pros

Steady hours and solid experience building out regional tracking networks. You get to work independently on the ground most of the time.

Cons

Massive scope creep with zero additional compensation. They increased the physical labor requirements significantly—shifting from digging standard 30-inch holes to digging 42-48 inch deep holes reinforced with rebar and four bags of concrete—while keeping the pay exactly the same.On top of that, logistics are awful. They closed down local supply hubs, forcing massive weekly driving distances just to fetch basic equipment, yet scheduling was so uncoordinated it took them weeks to stop assigning full workloads on supply-run days.Supervisors act like mindless "company men." I was left on read while experiencing severe heat exhaustion symptoms in 100+ degree heat just so a supervisor could check daily production metrics. They treat field techs like disposable machinery, expect brutal days with hours of exhausting driving through remote territories, and offer zero operational support. Even after you leave, offboarding is broken; internal IT support analysts ignore their own logistics vendors, leaving automated systems to spam former employees for weeks about equipment they don't have.
