Pros

(1) People. A chance to meet genuine people and make new friends. Flyhomes hires talented, hardworking, friendly people. There will be an opportunity to connect with your colleagues and forge lasting relationships (2) Experience. The experience at Flyhomes is unique and invaluable. Get used to working by yourself, proving concepts and ideas on your own and getting buy in on just about everything you would like to accomplish. It's an individualistic culture that forces you to adopt new skills and learn hard lessons.

Cons

(1) Terrible work life balance. There are varying degrees to the work life balance depending on your role but prepare yourself for a less than desired split. Be prepared to work early mornings, long nights and always one full day of the weekend - you will have 1 day off a week. On your 1 day off, expect to receive requests and to do's on the internal messaging tool that the company uses (slack). As long as you have your phone you’ll be expected to work at some point. It’s very hard to unplug at this company. Schedules are irregular, when you've acclimated, your schedule will change. Enjoy your time off as being overworked is inevitable. Every team at Flyhomes is understaffed. (2) Toxic culture. You will witness unprofessional and toxic behavior at this company. The leadership and middle management team struggle mightily with interpersonal skills. Expect multiple people to act as your manager with no organizational structure or hierarchy, compensation will change with no forewarning (sometimes drastic), very minimal onboarding and training experience to understand your job duties, minimal support from leadership & management on work and initiatives you're driving for the company and little recognition for accomplishments. (3) Under compensation . Simply put, this company underpays its employees. Whether you're an agent working 7 days a week for 2 months straight helping your clients win a home and then earn a (small) fraction of the commission check with the company taking the majority OR you're a data scientist with a competitive salary but expected to produce 3x the work that you’re capable of - the company is hyper focused on reducing spend, especially on its people. (4) No career trajectory. If you're further along in your career and are hired to work a role that you see yourself in for years to come then you won't be phased by the company's approach to career development. There is no growth trajectory within the company, once you feel like you are ready for your next step, be prepared to take the step alone with little support from management. Instead, management will urge you to become an agent and help Flyhomes buy and sell homes as that's the only way the company makes money. (5) Company values. Flyhomes does not embody the company principles it preaches. Ask about these principles but don't expect them to reflect the company culture.

Pros

The overall concept of the business is interesting.

Cons

Everything looks organized at first, like there's a system in place. Then you actually get into it and realize things shift mid-way...like... why is this happening again? You think something is finalized, then it changes slightly, then again later. It's not huge changes, but it's enough to throw everything off. At first you try to adapt, the you realize you're constantly adapting. Same cycle, over and over.
