Pros

Get your foot into digital marketing

Cons

Please...before you apply here read this. 1. Salary cap on employees. It doesn’t matter how long you’ve been there...3 years...5 years....a campaign specialist is capped after the 2 year mark. This was told me to AFTER I never got a raise for the year. I was then told the cap was removed for 2021 and later was told by an even higher management that it was never discussed with him. 2. They will lie to you. I was also moved from the Hot Springs office to the Little Rock office to learn a different position (I was a Campaign specialist and learned the product specialist role...aka building websites, SEO work) and told that I was material for a team lead there. Someone else got the position. I was told they were afraid the other person would have left if they had given it to me and they also gave it to them because they were hired on to the company before me...this should have been my first sign of getting out. 3. Gossip. This company LOVES to gossip and anything and everything will get around and become twisted. Backstabbers are everywhere and people will happily be nice to your face while talking bad about you behind your back, this includes upper management 4. Favoritism. Be prepared to also watch others come in for less than a year, get picked because they’re “attractive” and moved to a management position because of favoritism. You will also encounter a culture of “not wanting to fire people”. Aka, there’s some lazy people that should be fired but for some reason are still there. Oh and those lazy people still get raises. You will even have a talk with your superiors about things and you’ll get “I’ll talk to them” with no improvement. It got to the point where I was having to double check others work or even taking on extra work because I did not trust those people to do it The list goes on but I think you get the gist. This is a very toxic company that seems good at first, but should only be viewed as a stepping stone into the digital marketing world.

We are glad to see that you stayed with our Flypaper team for so long. It's surprising to us that you had a 1-star experience. We understand that our culture of "caring meritocracy" isn't for everyone. At Flypaper, we value hard work and will do everything to empower and promote people when their merits and readiness reach the right level. If that is not the case, we feel it is our responsibility to protect employees from being put into positions and roles for which they are not prepared. It can be frustrating when somebody else gets a promotion that you felt you deserved and can make it feel like the team is playing "favorites." While we don't play favorites, we do look at each employee's work experience both before and during their time with Flypaper. Employees with backgrounds that include working in management roles or leading a team will catch our attention. This experience will sometimes result in leadership positions within our organization. Speaking of promotions, we've internally promoted team members to Regional Sales Manager, Agency Operations Manager (x2), Digital Marketing Strategist, and SEO Operations Manager (and that is just in the last few weeks). While we could go through and debunk many of the things said in this review, we will leave it at this: we are glad that Flypaper has been, and continues to be, a place where people begin their path in digital marketing. While it appears that you view your time at Flypaper as a way to "get your foot into digital marketing," we hope that your experience with our company leads you to a great career, even if that career isn't with Flypaper. Wishing you success.

Pros

Good office culture if your manager is supportive, decent opportunities for commission if you know what to look for. Very good starting point for someone fresh out of college.

Cons

Poor base pay with very little room for advancement. Leadership is distant and siloed into local offices. Favoritism can be rampant between regions.
