Pros

I worked for close to 2.5 years at Flyrobe, was one of the earliest core team members and recently finished my tenure as I am going for further education abroad. I joined as Digital marketing lead and exited as a VP Growth learning so much more than I had actually imagined before joining. Sharing details of the culture, work environment, career opportunities and ethos of the co-founders and leadership team. 1. Culture - Like every young and ambitious Indian startup, Flyrobe has a really open, non-hierarchical, empowering culture which thrives on individuals taking initiatives and getting full freedom to drive there projects to success. You'll find a 22 year old marketing intern, 25 yr old techie, 30 yr old operations lead all engaging with each other over projects, coffee breaks or dance parties. So if you love meeting new, young and energetic people, you'll love it here. Work environment - The work environment is absolutely meritocratic. You're success will be celebrated by everyone and personal/professional challenges acted upon diligently and empathetically. Since its a close knit work environment, everyone knows everyone and hence there is an intent to make each other successful in projects. Career opportunities - Over the last 2.5 years, I have seen many freshers and experienced folks join and work on challenging Tech, marketing, business development and operations projects. The experience to learn these functions at a deeper level is one of the best parts as you will get to hands on build big things grounds up and build great domain knowledge. When I joined, I had only worked in Search engine/social media paid advertising. From there on, I got a chance to learn content marketing, ATL/BTL media planning and later on transitioned to a product management and analytics role. I worked with designers, engineers and analysts and loved the cross-functional experience. Co-founders - I reported directly to Shreya (CEO) and got an opportunity to work even with Pranay(COO) and Tushar (CTO) so would like to individually comment on everyone. Shreya - Very transparent, proactively helpful and a great mentor. Since she comes from a consulting background, has great project management skills and a great clarity on objectives which is really essential while helping the team navigate ambiguous challenges a startup faces. Shreya was herself my recommender for my B-school applications and this is a great testimony about her passion to invest in team's growth unconditionally. Pranay - Passionate about Product, Ops and loves startup stories. You would love to hear him share his perspective on social media, commerce and everything startups! He has the side job of arranging all team parties which he takes really seriously! Tushar - Youngest of the 3 Co-founders and passionate about everything Tech and Science. Other team members - the entire team consists of really passionate and enthusiastic team members from engineering, fashion, and management schools. Everyone believes in learning from each other which makes the environment really collaborative.

Cons

The problem statements that Flyrobe is working on are really unique and industry first in India. So if you are not passionate about building things from scratch and don't believe in getting your hands dirty then you might not fit in well with the culture. Everyone at Flyrobe is passionate about the projects they are working on and people believe more in action than mere talk. If you are looking for a typical job job, then you might find things overwhelming. Its a startup where people love to hustle and take more responsibility of their work. So be prepared to go out of your comfort zone.
