Pros
If you are interested in journalism and foreign policy, this is one of the best (and only) spots for you in the English-speaking world. Good brand among those who know it (mostly in DC). Employees on the edit side speak many different languages and have rangy and interesting backgrounds.
Cons
Now under new management, but complaints about arrogant and aloof management continue; do your diligence and talk to current employees before joining. It appears to remain a place where it is hard to move up. You may be asked to stay in your lane. Too dominated still by white men (and I say that as one myself). FP needs a more diverse newsroom to reflect the diversity of the world it seeks to cover. But cost cuts have hurt the product; more opinion pieces now, from a smaller array of voices.
