Pros

Really proactive and supportive leadership navigating a tough landscape. The work is important and I feel supported in doing it. All staff are able to contribute to organizational goals and culture. Staff retreats are in-person and are well structured, but also fun. I feel cared for.

Cons

doing this type of work remotely isn't for everyone. Working with young people, managing multiple projects at the same time, and having good communications is hard in any workspace, but even more challenging via zoom. also, it is a small organization despite being nationally focused, so promotions and growth opportunities are limited, but not their fault.

Pros

I've learned and grown as a professional so much since starting my job at FosterClub. It's a workplace that values good ideas and rewards positive attitudes and demonstrated track records. As an employee with a disability, I can safely say they're miles ahead of most other organizations when it comes to accommodations and DEI as it pertains to disability justice. Would highly recommend this employer!

Cons

Some of the technological systems are difficult to use, but we are working on getting better options

∙ Mission-driven organization with talented and passionate staff. ∙ Incredible youth participants whose stories inspire daily.

Cons

∙ Leadership lacks adequate training in disability inclusion and HR compliance. ∙ Requests for accommodations are met with resistance and defensiveness. ∙ HR processes appear focused on protecting management rather than ensuring fairness. ∙ Psychological safety for employees with disabilities is low.
