Pros

- health insurance (vision included) - more observed holidays (might be specific to the office I worked at) - some of my former colleagues actually liked working here (but they work at different offices), so it might just be this one specific office. -attys are generally nice to work with

Cons

Overall, I am so glad that I get to finally leave this company. I will never recommend this specific office to any of my friends/colleagues :D 1. Unprofessional communication: -I have been left on read multiple times on messenger. -I was told that I ask the same questions multiple times in my first month. -I got yelled at during a meeting. I professionally addresses issues I was having with a case that I could not further proceed with, and the case lead just got mad at me and started raising her voice. Very patronizing, condescending, and unprofessional of her. I have never got yelled at by someone at work. She was NOT even my boss, and even if she was my boss, she should never have yelled at me. I almost wondered how she even got her job. -They blame me for a lot of things without keeping themselves on track of previous communications (emails). 2. Horrible onboarding/training: - IT and HR did such poor jobs setting up my remote account. I had a hard time joining meetings on my first day. -Nobody checked in on me to see how I was doing. They just dumped a bunch of cases at me without providing me with detailed information of cases (which steps they are at, what is missing, etc., that I had to figure everything out myself). -I had to request a call with a "manager" on my 3rd week as no one was checking up on me. -I was not provided with sufficient resources on new cases and client-specific processes (i was just somehow expected to get everything done without any resources). -I had to reach out to multiple people to that I was not even formally introduced. -Every time I reached out to someone for help, they were busy redirecting me to somebody else. At one point, I had to reach out to five different people within two hours to get one task done. 3. Disorganized -This is an old organization, yet does not have established processes for certain steps. -My "manager" was not an actual manager. The "manager" only approved my timecard, but never once checked in on me. I asked for a mentor and was never provided with one. The "manager" did not even bother replying to my resignation letter. -The case lead and manager treat employees like robots. They do NOT care about your well-being. The only thing they cared about was how fast I get things done. There is no opportunity for professional growth whatsoever. They just treated me like a robot. 4. Unrealistic expectation without advanced heads up -I was a remote employee based in a different state, but expected to somehow assemble physical packets (?) as if I could simply transport myself to the office? When I expressed my concern, the response I received was "you coordinate with an in-house team member" without telling me who to reach out to. I was a remote employee who just started working, barely knowing any in-house team members. One of the attorneys, later on, apologized for the unorganized process. - In my first few weeks, there were a number of times they had me finish up "urgent" cases that "must go out today" without any heads-up, which causes so much anxiety and stress. 5. Worst last two weeks -As soon as I put my two weeks notice in, I realized the case lead and case manager tried to overwork. Unlike my previous jobs that were trying to transition to cases to other employees during my last two weeks, this company tried to suck on every single possible nutrient from me. They set up a last-minute meeting close to an EOD Friday without asking me if that is okay. -Until the last day, they expected me to do a last single bit of work even after yelling at me instead of transitioning them. I was mentally logged off once I got yelled at.

Pros

Decent overtime pay. I also had a decent training/onboarding experience, but this was not the norm.

Cons

Exploitative, 80+ hour work weeks, 2am messages from attorneys, burn-out model for paralegals and associates (scoop them up after BA or JD and overwork them until they quit), misrepresent case load during interview by 50% of total, low ceiling for non-attorney career advancement. Have an exit plan.
