Pros

GEM has a diverse client base.

Cons

This is a family owned company, which makes it an extremely difficult environment to work in. The family who works there expects employees to put in the extra effort with no reward. They manipulated me into working through lunch and staying late everyday. They want to hire people out of college so they can pay the least amount possible. The pay is horrible and they make it seem enticing with the commission structure. IF YOU WORK THERE MAKE SURE TO GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING. I was screwed out of commission multiple times. Overall, the work environment is very negative and judgmental. You are ridiculed if you don’t agree with their opinion. There is no room for growth and absolutely no flexibility.

Pros

After many years, I continue to be amazed by the many relationships that have been nurtured and developed by GEM. We work hard every day to ensure our candidates have a unique, personal experience that puts their needs first - and in return, those candidates turn into our clients - plain and simple. Our clients are invaluable and we don't stop until they are happy! Working at GEM requires hard work, integrity and commitment...but it is rewarded with awesome benefits, uncapped earning potential (yes, you have to work for it), flexibility, and time for fun. You get cool perks like a bar in the office, regular team events (TopGolf, Painting, Movies, Wine Making, Cooking Lessons, etc.), random gifts/rewards, team workouts, trips, flexibility, and more.

Cons

The culture rejects people who are looking for a "free ride" or just a "job." You are expected to be self-driven, committed, AND honest. With most careers (and definitely recruiting), you need to put in some time before the rewards come piling in. Now, these qualities aren't "cons" to me, but if they are to you, then GEM is probably not the place for you.
