Pros

GMF typically doesn’t fire people, so if you get hired you can usually bet that your job is safe, no matter the number and magnitude of your errors. They are a growing company. If you stick it out for the long run, you will see a good return on your time investment. The turn over rate is fairly high so you will get a chance to meet many people over the course of your employment. You have the potential to rapid personal growth at this company. Whether or not you see that reflected in your pay or job title, is not up to you. However the growth that you will have is easily transferable to other industries.

Cons

GMF is a rapidly growing company. Almost too rapid. Due to the large projects that they work on, things such as training, employee development, and workplace happiness are thrown to the wayside. GMF rewards longevity. Their mindset is to work 60 hours a week for 5 years, and then you will start to be financially rewarded for your efforts. I once had a supervisor tell me, “you are not at max capacity until you are working 12 hours on Saturday and Sunday.” The yearly turnover rate is approximately 10%. The pay is well below average for the given titles. You have very few vacation days, and when you try to take them you are you are guilted into feeling bad about it. The 401k and other benefits are average. Employee evaluations are almost nonexistent, no matter how persistent an employee is on receiving one.
