I worked at Gaia full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Many inspiring, impassioned people working here albeit under very unfortunate management and CEO. It's a great place to work for some, but heavily dependent on the team. Some teams aren't around the BS.

Also, it's a paycheck. And you get insurance & a 401k match.

Cons

If you want to kill your creative spirit, work here! They have a terrible reputation locally AND in the industry. If Gaia customers only knew how fraudulent they are, how shady the company is, and how they run their business...

All they care about is the bottom line, to profit off the mindful movement. They'll woo you with their mission, management will deliver an inspiring speech, and you'll be enticed to work here because you're "changing the world". But it's one of the least mindful companies out there. Most employees leave on terrible terms.

Highlights: Bad energy in office, fear-mongering, "butts in seats" mentality, you will be a puppet, high employee turnover, lots of ego..and for what?, you will probably be fired if you don't believe in conspiracy theories

About that lifestyle video they put on here... Basically, the CEO said "make a video asap about how great we are". Nobody wanted to speak in it. It's fake propaganda.

Advice to Management

Well, they've gone through two HR Directors in the past few months so who will get a chance to respond? Can't seem to keep 'em. Management doesn't listen or care despite what they claim on here, but nonetheless:

- Build trust with employees
- Be more transparent, empathetic, humble, and compassionate, aka the characteristics you sell on your product but don't deliver. People can't learn to be empathetic, so I don't know what to say other than please try.

Good luck!

I worked at Gaia full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It is a very health driven company. Everyone there is either doing yoga, skiing or biking. The overall culture of the company is nice to be around, and for the most part management respect home/work balance. Gaia has some of the nicest people you will ever meet, always willing to lend a hand others.

    Cons

Bad management can sneak it's way around the company and nothing is done about it. There is gossip and toxic people around every corner, and they never seem to be the ones to be a part of the large turnover this company has. You see a constant flow of new faces never knowing what happened to "so and so". Too much of what goes on around Gaia is hush hush.

    Advice to Management

Take some management classes and start listening to your HR and IT support departments.

I have been working at Gaia (Less than a year)

    Pros

Gaia is a very relaxed atmosphere but they get things done. Everyone respects one another. That respect brings good teamwork and good teamwork brings success. With all of that comes a happy place to work.

    Cons

I honestly can't see any cons unless I had a long commute in the snow. That would be a con for any job in my book.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good employee relations.
