Pros

There are no pros anymore. People used to be proud to say worked at Gateway. Now there is shame and regret.

Cons

All of the good reasons to work at Gateway are gone. Everything that was working and sound treatment for clients is gone. Clients have been bounced around from worker to worker and Therapists disappear over night. If you escape this toxic work environment you lucky if you have a shred of self-esteem left.

Thank you for your feedback. Gateway is proud of its tremendous success from year one of its strategic plan and the positive, proven outcomes we produced for families. This could not have happened without the dedication, enthusiasm, feedback and hard work of our staff.

Pros

Benefits are better than at some comparable agencies. You're certainly given a large number of sick/vacation days which is not to be discounted.

Cons

I remember when working for Gateway engendered some sense of self pride or at least agency-pride. Gateway once felt almost family-like (a feeling that is now discouraged). There is no sense now that management cares for employees (as heads roll weekly - sometimes entire departments "roll" in one fell swoop and staff is never given an explanation as if the frequency of this was not depleting morale). Even worse, there is little real sense that management cares about the care clients are receiving with insufficient staff and no professional supervision. It is a sad place to work, with no seeming prospects of there being a "brighter day". The negative attitude of employees has little to do with a lack of understanding of a business model. It stems rather from not being listened to and being de-valued as you sit back and watch clients also taking second place to corporate profit (which seems ephemeral). If you care about yourself, if you care about the people you work with or for, don't work here.
