Pros

Hypergrowth startup tag. Multiple raising of funds assures long-term runway. You can brag to your friends and family that you work at a robotics startup.

Cons

This is a wannabe startup. Following closely the footsteps of Palantir. They even hired 3 ex-director-level, incompetent bosses from Palantir. Now everything the company talks about is how to become a Palantir. The moral of the story is, why would you work for a fake Palantir-like org when you can apply and join Palantir? The leadership is somehow bringing in all the Palantir secret sauces and trying to fit them inside the org. Engineering & Product had the highest turnover (go to linked in and search for engineers & PM who left Gecko in 2021). Engineering bosses are highly political with zero transparency. HR seemed to have good intentions but was always intimidated by the young leadership (seriously in their late 20s). Operations have no life. Thanksgiving? Christmas? Even those are a myth in the ops team. Oh did I mention marketing? They were management's favorite pet. But had a clean swipe in late 2021.

Pros

- early on had a lot of founding responsbility - very cool tech stack for 3D rendering on front end - felt meaningful - great SWE organization, company culture felt relaxed but with talented people

Cons

- recent year has been a managment restructure that changed the vibe of the whole company - no real product vision - SWE org is no more, only government contracts are surviving
