Pros

-Relatively nice people to work with -Hours weren't crazy (for the project I worked on) -Sort of decent pay

Cons

There's about a 10% chance that you will get anywhere in the company, chances are they'll replace you as soon as the project is done (even though they tell you they won't). As an artist, Gener8 will give you absolutely nothing to advance in your field. They hire pretty much anyone that can open Maya, let them go when the project is over and then complain about the amount of experience you have, at the start of every single project pretty much everyone is brand new and has to be trained. This company lacks encouragement, respect for their employees and very little chance of stability and growth. Departments are constantly blaming each other for the mediocre work that gets done.

Pros

I've worked Gener8 for almost 2 years now in the same department. I've seen people come and go, and projects rise and fall. I've worked with some amazing people, and a few not so great here and there. However, Prime Focus just bought Gener8 a few months ago and it has been a complete disaster. They promised us things wouldn't change. They did. The first month they let 50 people go that they had JUST hired. They replaced all the HR and Recruiting staff, who were some of the best I'd ever worked with. The projects we get to work on are pretty awesome I'll admit, but most of the workload now gets sent to India (Prime Focus), and we basically check their work now and tell them the quality is terrible, and fix it for them.

Cons

People leaving like crazy lately. All the smart/good artists are finding elsewhere to spend their time. Somewhere they are appreciated.
