Pros

While I was working there, the team was OK, and I had some good support from the Operations Manager who understood Safety from the Workers Perspective.

Cons

I feel sick that I need to write this. This is something I have never had to do, even with Employers that have treated me harshly. The difference is, at least they did not steal my personal belongings and the paid out all the expenses I was owed. I worked for genesis for just over one year. I was asked to recreate their Safety Program, which I did and at a high pace. What should have taken a lot longer was done in just over one year. The details of which must remain private. I was provided a truck to work out of and in that truck, I had a lot of my personal tools that I used to do the job at a level I work at. These tools are expensive and mine. The box cover on the truck at one time was damaged to the point that it had to be removed. So, I purchased as part of Genesis Property, some specialized boxes to contain my working tools. When we parted ways, these items were returned to Genesis as they did not belong to me, minus some tools that were stolen from the back of the truck. When I was dismissed without cause, they day was a bit emotional, I was a professional, but I tried to gather my belongings. They provided no boxes for my items so I asked if we could arrange for me to collect the remainder on another day. I was assured all my belongings would be returned. Between the day I was dismissed, and they day arranged for me to return their items, I had sent many emails to ask for the return of all my items and to have my expenses paid out. My tools are valued close to $4000.00, and I had close to $800.00 in expenses owed to me. I no longer have the receipts so an exact number I cannot provide. the day came where I returned their items, and a small box was given to me. In that box was some of my belongings and an empty box for my desk fan. I asked where the fan was, and I was informed it wasn't on the desk. this was not my problem as they should be obligated keep safe my personal belongings. I had expenses because the Home Depot Credit Card was cancelled for non-payment and the field needed certain items, so I used my personal Credit Card. At the time, they had paid the previous expenses I submitted so when I used my card, I thought getting paid would be no issue. Little did I know what they were willing to do to an ex-employee. After several polite and cordial emails, not one response has been received. this company who is run by investors has just enriched themselves on the back of an ex-employee. They are refusing to even answer my emails, let alone return my personal belongings that I need to earn a living. these are high end items used for day-to-day activities and for detailed investigations. I feel as if my hand has been forced to go public with my issue here, I truly wish that I didn't have to go to this level.
