Pros

Compensation was good. Medical benefits were decent. Like any organization, I met and worked with some good people which was the best part.

Cons

Fundamental lack of organizational structure causes large amounts of confusion on roles and responsibilities. Conflicting directions from senior leadership adds to said confusion. Lack of HR department means senior leadership can act without repercussions. Fear of retaliation from leadership. Nobody to advocate for employees. Constant moving of goal posts - requirements and priorities change on a daily basis meaning it's extremely difficult to even plan the scope for a 1 week sprint. Large amounts of tech debt accumulated from years of 'get it done fast' mentality. The developers, and several other roles, are all remote, but there was no flexibility for my role to be performed remote - displays a lack of trust. There is a huge focus on sales and operational management instead of leadership and growing a team. As a PM I've never had to track daily sales goals before, that's something I would expect operations or sales to track. Be prepared for ownership's mood to be 100% dependent on sales. They will never be satisfied with the number either.

Pros

The pay is decent, but not worth all the things you have to put up with.

Cons

Owners are bullies - They don't care about their people at all. They will hire you as an "expert" and then not let you do your job because they think they know more than you. They will give you direction and then change their mind and blame you two days later. Doesn't matter how much data you show them, they only see/hear what they want. They love to fire people with no explanation or warning and completely replace entire departments on a regular basis. Here are some more fun facts about Go Port:) - Security cameras (w/ audio) IN your office - Salary? nah you still have to clock in and out - Little to no flexibility if you have an appointment/personal stuff going on - Secluded offices w/ little interaction between departments (just a weird office setting in general) - No 401k - Oh yeah... and the owner's are terrible people
